Knowing your best neutrals!

Yes, I’m a colour stylist and adore colour. But I’m always going to advocate for neutrals. I love them. They make you feel harmonious, grounded and calm, when it’s a bit chaotic all around. And in fact you can wholly stick to neutrals after colour analysis if you want to. You don’t suddenly become a clown and start wearing loads of brights. But it helps to know which neutrals work best for your colouring and complexion. I’m wearing cream and gold / tan in this Wrap London not-new blouse, which is light enough for a Spring complexion like mine, but being slightly burnished and warm, it’s perfect for Autumns too.

Cream is the warmest light neutral, Ivory is amazing for Springs with its light yellow base, Ecru is usually warm, but look for Warm Ecru to be sure, and Stone can go either way, depending on the shade. Look for soft whites and pale greys if you’re cool-toned. I’ll touch on darker neutrals and navy another time…

Colourfully, Jenny x
